Michael McCuen

Founder & Managing Partner

Michael is the Founder and Managing Partner of Energías Limpias de Centroamérica. As a business owner and clean energy developer with operations in Costa Rica, Michael integrates his 20 years of both high-level corporate exposure and professional business experience, with his vision of cleaner, renewable energy developments.

Over the last two decades, Michael has exhibited a keen ability to enter new markets, both creating and delivering sales solutions that focus on increased revenues and profitability. While employed in the High-Tech Industry, Michael held a senior management role that targeted new product line introductions into untapped markets, aiming for high margin revenues. Under his management, his team delivered both annualized and recurring revenues in excess of $100 million in less than 4 years.

As the Managing Partner of Energías Limpias, Michael’s primary focus is to implement strategies, and drive revenue growth. He utilizes his broad network of influential people to design, permit, build, and finance Energy solutions in Central America.

Michael maintains homes in Colorado and Costa Rica, and is conversational in Spanish and fluent in English. Michael holds a B.S.B.A. in International Business from The Ohio State University, in addition to being an honorably discharged United States Marine.


Chris Morehead

Director of Operations

Chris is an experienced architect and project manager with over 18 years in the architectural and construction industries. His international exposure includes the United States and many countries in Latin America. Chris has gained the theoretical skills necessary to participate in many design processes and the practical experience necessary to execute those designs into a constructible reality.

Chris has lead and motivated multi-discipline team members to achieve project goals. Chris has an extensive track record of completing projects from Pre-design through Construction closeout in both Spanish or English and in different cultural settings and environments.

Chris recently lead Establishment Labs of Zona Franca Coyol as the project manager through a $15,000,000 construction project and Central America’s largest private MicroGrid to date.

Chris is a California native, a licensed architect in Costa Rica and a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Chris is a proud graduate of University of Kentucky’s College of Architecture and Design, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. Chris is fluent in both Spanish and English.
